AmCham Public Procurement and EU Funding Advisory Committee Meeting, June 29

Mission: The mission of the Public Procurement and EU Funding Advisory Committee is to promote a transparent and modern public procurement framework based on best European and other international practices, to facilitate the correct and transparent implementation of the Bulgarian public procurement law and any legislation relevant to public private partnership, and to enhance stability and predictability of the public procurement tender award procedures in order to support the positive absorption of European Union funding in country.

Goals: – To bring initiatives and resolve business case studies for AmCham members upon its own initiative, as well as to deal with associated issues raised by the AmCham Board of Directors (hereafter referred to as the “Board”) or by other committees/working groups;
– To help the Bulgarian Government to introduce more transparent and streamlined public procurement tender award procedures, including working with donors and international institutions who are seeking to provide support to Bulgaria in this area;
– To increase U.S. companies’ interests in the country through promoting transparency and assuring they shall enjoy equal access to and participation in Bulgarian public procurement;
– To ensure that constructive, professionally grounded comments and proposals are issued under the AmCham header;
– To assist the membership in achieving a direct dialogue with decision makers.
Working groups:

 

In order to organize the committee’s work in the most efficient way, the committee members agreed to break into several working groups. The working groups will set up their own Agendas and at the regular Committee meetings they will report and exchange information between each other.
