AmCham Board of Directors Meets with Ambassador James Warlick

On February 4th the AmCham Board of Directors had a business breakfast with the U.S. Ambassador to Bulgaria James B. Warlick Jr.

The Ambassador met with Anthony Hassiotis, Postbank (Eurobank EFG Bulgaria AD), President, Stefan Ivanov, Citibank N.A., Vice President, Tanya Kosseva-Boshova, European Trade Center OOD, Vice President, George Gueorgiev, Motorola Bulgaria, Treasurer, Atanas Garov, COLLIERS International, Zachary Hampson, Grenville Bulgaria, Thomas Higgins, Balkan Accession Fund, Dana L. Niedzielska, PPD, Peter Lithgow, AES Corporation, Bernard Moscheni, Vivacom, and Valentin Georgiev, AmCham Executive Director. The U.S. Commercial Counselor Scott Pozil took part in the meeting as well.

The AmCham Board shared views with Ambassador Warlick on the investment climate in the country and discussed the priorities and the plan of activities of the Chamber for 2010 with a special focus on its 15th anniversary celebration this year. Ambassador Warlick has declared the U.S. Embassy commitment to support the Chamber in its endeavors for attracting more U.S investors in Bulgaria and for its engagement in shaping a better business environment in the country. The Board members acknowledged the great partnership the Chamber has with the Embassy which also serves to the common goal of the development and strengthening of the bilateral U.S.-Bulgaria relations.

The business breakfast took place a day after the Ambassador announced that the U.S., on a routine basis, will issue visas valid for 10 years to all Bulgarians, who are approved by the Embassy in Sofia as eligible to enter the country. The news came out after the meeting of the US Ambassador with Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov.

The U.S. Embassy encourages business and tourist travelers who wish to visit the United States to apply for a visa that would allow them to travel for the next 10 years without returning to the Embassy.
