AmCham news release
Following “publication” of its White Paper, AmCham Bulgaria is pleased to announce the first meeting with one of the parties vying for election on 12 May. On 22 April, AmCham Board members met with the Bulgaria for Citizens Movement. The Movement was represented by Bisser Manolov, Krassimir Popov, and Valentin Stoyanov. AmCham was represented by Peter Lithgow, AES; Daniel Berg, EBRD, Alex Nestor, Dundee Precious Metals and Valentin Georgiev, Executive Director.
Bulgaria for Citizens Movement elaborated key economic issues which are included in their Party Programme. Key areas of concern for economic development included: attracting FDI, increasing exports, ensuring sufficient fiscal reserves and improving utilization of EU funds, improving education and healthcare.
During the conversations the AmCham elaborated on the analysis and recommendations in the White Paper, including expanding the role of the InvestBulgaria Agency; ensure legislative and regulatory transparency and predictability; formulating legislative impact assessment; and promoting sustainable business models and CSR practices.
