Position Paper
AmCham, together with the British-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce (BBCC) submitted a position on the proposed increase of maximum social securities threshold from BGN 2 200 to 2 400. Both organizations are concerned about the negative trend of constant threshold’s increases and its repercussions. In the position, AmCham and BBCC outline several strong arguments against the proposal for a new increase of the maximum threshold within the 2014 Budget procedure.

Among those are the negative impacts of the increase on investments, important economy sectors with high-added value as IT, outsourcing, financing, and consultancy, as well as negative effects on youth employment and the economy as a whole.
