Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko’s management team brings Christmas gifts and joy to disabled children

On 12 December 2013, Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko’s management team visited Zdravetz, the local centre for children with cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities, to delight them as usual with Christmas gifts. The team pleased all 42 children at different ages with Christmas stockings filled with candy, fruits and sweets. This year the team also surprised the children with five ginger bread houses which they assembled together with the children. All of them were thrilled and showed good effort and enthusiasm in building the houses.

At the end, when the “buildings” were ready, the kids tasted the tempting houses. This gesture sparked some spontaneous Christmas spirit in the centre, which provides healthcare and rehabilitation services for disabled children, as well as training opportunities that teach children how to care for themselves and play sports. The centre also provides specialist care and works with parents and other caretakers.

The children presented a small Christmas tree, specially designed and decorated by them to the General Manager of the hotel, Mr Athanassios Manos. “Nothing else can please a man like smiling children’s eyes. I am glad that we had the chance to make these children happy and offer them one different and interesting day. Christmas is just around the corner and it is this time of the year when the people are opening their hearts for goodness. We promise that we will not stop here and we will continue our support and partnership with the centre with new initiatives coming soon“, said Mr Manos.

Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko has a long-term commitment to support various events at the centre, including its 15th anniversary celebration held on 5 September 2013, where the hotel organised decorations and catered the event. In Spring 2013, Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko organised Open Day, where children had the opportunity to swim in the hotel’s indoor pool and enjoy the bubbling water in the Jacuzzi. The spa centre staff members made sure the children were safe and that they enjoyed themselves, and the hotel chefs surprised the children with delicious sandwiches and sweets. The management team undertook all these initiatives with the aim of creating a lasting tradition of helping kids in need and contributing to local social causes.
