Washington to host a second web chat on T-TIP

TTIP Update

Washington will host a second web chat on T-TIP, this time with a focus on the T-TIP Investment Chapter. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 18, from 9:00-10:00am EST (4pm – 5pm Sofia) and will feature U.S. investment lead negotiator Jai Motwane and a USG moderator.
The EU chose not to have a representative in this dialogue.

Jai Motwane is Senior Director for Services and Investment in the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), the agency of the United States Government responsible for the negotiation of international trade and investment agreements. Mr. Motwane’s work at USTR involves the negotiation of bilateral investment treaties, the investment component of free trade agreements, and services aspects of bilateral and multilateral trade agreements. He is the lead U.S. negotiator on the investment chapter of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (T-TIP) negotiations.
Prior to joining USTR, Mr. Motwane worked on trade remedy investigations as an analyst at the United States International Trade Commission. Mr. Motwane has previously held positions at a consultancy in the United Kingdom, an international law firm in New York City, and the Economic Section of the U.S. Embassy in London. Mr. Motwane holds a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and an undergraduate degree from Richmond, The American International University in London.
