UniCredit awards a EUR 50,000 prize at Appathon 2016

This is the first prize in this year’s Appathon of the group – the online competition for financial services developers

Developers from all over Europe can apply with a project until July 13th; the top 10 developers will present their ideas in Milan on July 20th.

The best idea in this year’s Appathon – the competition of UniCredit for development of innovations in mobile banking – will receive the first prize, which amounts to EUR 50,000, and support in the realization of the project.

Participants from all over Europe can apply until July 13th at www.unicredit-appathon.com. Appathon is suitable for individual financial technology developers, but startups can apply, too.

The second prize in Appathon is 2 tickets for the global conference on financial technologies and innovations Finovate, which will take place in London in February 2017. The third prize is a Virtual Reality headset.

UniCredit launched the Appathon three years ago. This is the first edition for which the application procedure is entirely online, so that participants from all over Europe, including Bulgaria, can have access to it.

This year the competitors for the first prize have three subjects to address: (1) applications for new services in relation to the Payment Services Directive (PSD2), (2) suggestions for new functionalities of the digital wallet “Monhey”, which UniCredit offers to its clients in Italy, (3) fast financial solutions for everyday life (moment-based insights). 10 teams will be chosen to present their applications in Milan on July 20th.
