DB Schenker Partners Legion Run Sofia 2016

22 barriers and over 2700 participants jumping, crawling, sprinting and swinging through mud, water and ice

Sofia became once again the venue for fun and emotions in extreme outdoor activities as one of the stops for the Legion Run tour on July 9th, 2016. Prior to the barriers run, DB Schenker in Bulgaria was coordinating the transport of sport and technical equipment from Poland to Sofia, including the hurdles and supplies used during the run.

This year’s event location was Pancharevo Lake, situated in the outskirts of the Bulgarian capital. A challenging route with over 20 barriers of mud, ice and barbed wire, and a 5 km run were expecting the participants.

“The most important thing is the quality of the event and the experience provided to our participants, said Ivaylo Matev, event manager of the Legion Run. To ensure this we follow a strict schedule. Having a reliable logistic partner like DB Schenker Logistics that always delivers on time, is a key to our success, Matev further said.

“We are very proud of our partnership with the Legion Run. DB Schenker, as a leading logistics provider on the market, surely meets the highest standards demanded by the organizers”, said Katerina Ruseva, Head of Sales at DB Schenker in Bulgaria.

DB Schenker has been successful for many years in event logistics and special freights with products such as DB SCHENKERsportsevents, DB SCHENKERmoving services and DB SCHENKERfairs. Amongst other things, it has handled a number of summer and winter Olympic Games, the soccer World Cup in Germany in 2006 and South Africa in 2010, the European Championship in Austria in 2008 and Bansko World Cup 2015. It also organises the transportation of the Austria ski team equipment to the summer training camps overseas and to races during the World Cup season.
