Esri challenges students all over the world to tell compelling map stories that bring about understanding and action.

Sofia, 18  August 2016 – Esri, the world`s leading developer of GIS (Geographic Information System) software, is running a new contest that opens on August 29 called “Global Content Challenge”. It is a great opportunity to use the power of Esri content and create your own geographic analyses, visualisations, predictive models and more to tell compelling scientific stories. The stories must be presented using Esri Map Journal app. All registered participants will have free access to the ArcGIS application in order to create their multimedia narratives and share them easily.

The competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students at colleges and universities. High school students are also welcome to take part and submit their projects in case they have background knowledge in the field of GIS.

The best map journals will be selected by Esri Judges and will be awarded prizes. There will be winners in each of the three categories – land, ocean and population. The outstanding projects will receive $10,000 or its equivalent in Esri software. Esri will also share the winning map journals on their Collaborative Resource Portal and feature them at Esri`s Education User Conference.
