Kempinski celebrates landmark 120th anniversary with ‘Ignite the Night’ festivities

Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko marks the occasion with a special cocktail party

Kempinski Hotels has marked an important milestone in its history – its 120th anniversary. Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group has celebrated twelve decades of delivering rich and meaningful experiences to its guests as well as creating remarkable traditions.

A series of bespoke festivities has been launched on the evening of 8 April worldwide with the ‘Ignite the Night’ event which has gathered guests and partners of the hotels for stylish celebrations with numerous exciting surprises.

As a proud member of the Kempinski family, Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko hosted an elegant cocktail to mark the occasion of the 120thanniversary. On 8 April, at 18:00pm, General Manager, Carsten Seubert, and his team welcomed the guests of the event at the stylish Lobby Bar, where they enjoyed delicious culinary surprises accompanied by the live musical performance of a famous Bulgarian string quartet. One of the highlights of the evening was the introduction of the signature Anniversary cocktail which the guests of the event had the opportunity to try first. The culmination, however, came with the bringing of the special Birthday Cake “Pirin Dream”, which ignited the place with brightness and symbolized the sparkle and luxury sensation that the Kempinski brand stands for.The guests of the event also had the opportunity to make their personal wishes to Kempinski by writing them on special leaf-shaped cards and hanging them on make-a-wish tree.

The 120th anniversary celebrations also saw the launch of the Kempinski Travel in Style Competition, offering the chance to win an exclusive 10-night trip for two people, in three Kempinski hotels, including flights, limousine transfers and suite accommodation.

Today Kempinski manages and operates some of the world’s most iconic hotels, such as the Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, and the Çirağan Palace Kempinski in Istanbul. The brand is synonymous with elegant European service, blended with the individual culture and traditions of each destination.

As well as the 120th anniversary, 2017 also marks the return of Kempinski to the Americas, with the opening of Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana, Cuba’s first five-star luxury hotel. Housed in one of Old Havana’s most iconic buildings, the hotel will be the newest star in the Kempinski constellation.
