Petar Ivanov is New Executive Director of AmCham

AmCham Board of Directors appointed Petar Ivanov as AmCham executive director as of May 5, 2017.

Petar served on the AmCham Board from Dec. 2015 to May 2017.

Petar Ivanov has 20 years of professional experience in Bulgaria, CEE, Russia & CIS. Petar has been general manager of three corporations: Global US Corporation 3Com / U.S. Robotics, Cisco Systems and Microsoft. Petar was general manager of a cluster of six countries in Central and Eastern Europe. From 2010 to 2012 he served as Executive Director of Russia Board in Cisco Systems. Petar is an active member of the American community in Bulgaria and the region. He was a board member of Junior Achievement Foundation. Among the priorities of Petar are educational initiatives in the field of corporate social responsibility and start-up community.

Petar succeeded in this position Alex Nestor who stepped down as AmCham interim executive director (Dec. 2016-May 2017). AmCham Board designated Mr. Nestor as an honorary member of the board. Alex has served 8 years on the board and will continue contributing to all AmCham initiatives for a better business environment.
