Five Bilateral Chambers Discuss Draft Food Law

Representatives of five bilateral chambers of commerce including the American Chamber of Commerce participated in a working meeting on September 5, 2017 with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Tzvetan Dimitrov and experts from the Ministry and the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency.

The aim of the meeting was to discuss the draft Food Law and the joint position of the bilateral chambers related to proposed provisions for food labelling and the potential implications of these provisions for importers and distributors of food products.

The parties agreed to continue the discussion on the proposed provisions for food labeling and exchange expert opinion in order to clarify the requirements in this area.
