The new 7-floor facility includes modern working stations, 36 meeting rooms, a fully equipped fitness center with a climbing boulder, kids center and a number of other amenity.
Progress, the leading provider of application development and deployment technologies, announced the relocation of its employees in Sofia to a new office building designed to further drive collaboration, creativity and innovation. The office in Sofia holds the biggest number of Progress employees worldwide, close to 500.
Located at the corner of Tsarigradsko Shosse Blvd. and Jerusalem Blvd. in Sofia, the new 7-floor office building spans almost 12,000 m2 and accommodates nearly 500 Progress employees. With a unique interior design, state-of-art facility and a new generation of technical equipment, the new office space is created to convey the local culture and way of working of the Progress employees in Sofia and provide an inspiring and productive environment where great ideas are born.

Local identity in a global company
The interior design theme of the new office is Bulgarian nature. Chosen by the employees, it aims to reveal the uniqueness of Bulgaria as a country and prompt visitors from other offices to learn more about its nature. Interwoven subtly into the overall design, the theme features well-known and beautiful scenery from different locations in Bulgaria as part of the entire look and feel of the space. Every year, about 100 international employees visit the Progress office in Sofia.
Collaboration, creativity and innovation
The new office includes 36 multi-functional meeting rooms with a varying capacity from 2 to 200 people. Designed with walls and furniture to be easily moved, they give employees flexibility to hold their meetings the way they want and be productive. A new-generation of innovative collaboration and communication technology platform, has been implemented to help employees connect, collaborate and present, both online and live.
In addition to the meeting rooms, small collaboration spaces in bright colors are also available on each floor. They aim to provide space for unplanned meetings and conversations where usually innovative ideas are born.
Much bigger Kids Center for the employees’ kids
Located on 550 м2 in the new building, the new Kids Center, a kindergarten-like space specially created for the employees’ kids, can now accommodate nearly twice as many kids as it used tо. The center provides not only daycare activities but also a number of specialized rooms aimed to help kids develop their cognitive, creative and logical thinking and their interests. In addition to the traditional classrooms, the Kids Center also has a Montessori cabinet, a dining room with a nook for little chefs and a kids library for reading and relaxation as well as indoor and ourdoor playgrounds. The interior design of all rooms is based on the kids’ age, abilities and interests.
Recreation and relax
The entire seventh floor is a zone dedicated to recreation and relax. Еmployees can play different indoor sports, test innovative hardware gadgets and devices and relax while reading and socializing. A cinema-like video room is available for watching live conferences and educational videos. All Progress employees in Sofia are also able to enjoy a 24/7 fully equipped fitness center located in the building on XXX. The fitness center has a professional instructor and will also offer group classes like yoga and Zumba. A big surprise for all employees on the first day was a special climbing boulder, located in the fitness center.
The new office includes a 3-floor parking with a total of 218 parking spots for the Progress employees. It also has a cafeteria with healthy and freshly prepared food, kitchenets on each floor offering free coffee, tea, milk, snacks and fruit as well as a mail room for receiving employees’ packages.
