On June 26th, 2018  Nikolay Tonev, Mayor of Galabovo and Krassimir Nenov, Executive Director, ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 attended the opening ceremony of the newly built Ezeroto Park at Galabovo. It is a project under the Social Investment Agreement signed between Galabovo Municipality and ContourGlobal. There was a wrestling demonstration in the sand between Galabovo wrestling sports clubs and their counterparts from Sliven. Both teams were trained by the five-time Wrestling World Champion Stanka Zlateva, who was specially invited to the event.

Quinto di Ferdinando, Chief Operating Officer of ContourGlobal Thermal Division, Alessandro Moretto, Director of ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 TPP, Svetla Boyancheva, Chairperson of Galabovo Municipal Council, Deputy Mayors Plamen Barakov and Dimitar Vassilev were among the guests of honour at the official ceremony.

“It is a pleasure for us to work in partnership with Galabovo Municipality. Each year, as part of the long-term social investment agreement with the municipality, we jointly select a project to work on for the benefit of the local community. Such a project is The Ezeroto Park, in which ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 has invested BGN 650,000,” Krassimir Nenov said.

The Mayor Nikolay Tonev expressed his appreciation for the social policy of ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3, which meant in significant investments in Galabovo Municipality: “After the renovation of administrative buildings, kindergartens, the overhaul of “Energetik” Sports Hall, today’s event is a memorable occasion. This will remain for years ahead and for the generations to come”.

The newly designed “Ezeroto” Park in the Second District of the town has to offer to residents and guests of Galabovo recreational areas and outdoor activities. It is located at a short distance from the freshness of the “Rozov Kladenets” Dam. The joint project of Galabovo Municipality and ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 meets the expectations of the local residents and uses the natural features of the ground to the fullest.

The new facilities of the park comprise two fenced pitches – a turf pitch and a sand pitch offering a lot of fun to lovers of beach sports. Outdoor activities are complemented by a fully equipped fitness area.

For the youngest visitors of the park there is a specially constructed playground, meeting all existing safety requirements. Cool fountains and wooden benches add to the charm of the park, which is also a suitable place for bird watching as there are many rare bird species attracted by the waters of The Rozov Kladenets Dam. The park boasts a convenient bus stop, parking spaces, sanitary facilities, lighting, security guards and CCTV.

Over the last five years ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 has invested over BGN 2,000,000 in the welfare and development of the local community, built numerous infrastructure and other projects in Galabovo and the surrounding villages as well as at Stara Zagora. The company is proud of the positive impact it has on the local community of Galabovo and the pertaining region in the areas of education and culture, sports, health and social cohesion.
