The supported organizations were selected from a total of 277 proposals that applied for funding during the year.
“This year, we have a record number of projects that applied for funding from our Community board. All of them, and especially those that we funded during 2018, make an extraordinary contribution to improving the society and environment around us. A prominent example is the National Chemistry School project of the “Natural Sciences Olympic Teams Association” who returned with a set of gold, silver and bronze medals from this year’s international Chemistry competition. Thanks to the support provided by the Community Board, by mid-2018, ABLE Mentor program has connected over 1000 students with mentors from different professional backgrounds,” shares Xavier Marcenac, Vice Chairman of TELUS International Community board in Bulgaria.
During the ceremony, grants were awarded to socially significant projects of foundations, such as “Eyes on four paws”, “Synergia Foundation”, “Education without backpacks”, “Children’s books Foundation”, “National Alliance for Volunteer Action”, etc. The projects have benefited children and young people in over 15 cities in the whole country, including Varna, Pleven, Samokov, Tran, Varshets, and Blagoevgrad. One of the special guests of the event was Mr. Doncho Barbalov – Sofia Deputy Mayor for Finance, who handed the check to one of the supported organizations.
