H.E. Søren Jacobsen, Ambassador of Denmark to Bulgaria gave a lecture on the campus of the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG). The lecture is part of AUBG’s tradition to invite opinion leaders on topical issues of interest to the students and professors at the university.
The event took place at the Panitza University Library on the AUBG campus in Blagoevgrad at 19:30. The lecture titled “Denmark, Brexit and the future of Europe” focuses on the challenges the EU is facing in the light of the migration crises, Brexit and Rule of Law issues in the EU. The Ambassador touched upon key environmental issues as well as the opportunities and challenges for diffusing Danish environmental technologies/processes in response to the Paris Accord (particularly in Eastern Europe).
“Along with our diverse academic program, we at AUBG put great emphasis on the importance of inviting prominent external lecturers on campus,” AUBG President Steven Sullivan said. “This allows students to keep up-to-date with the events related to Europe and the European Union. These lectures are informative and interesting not only to our students and professors in the field of Politics and European Studies but to a wider circle of guests.”
