The event was opened from Mr. Lazar Lazarov – Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Mr. Petar Nikolov – Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Mrs. Elka Dimitrova – Director of “Labor Market Policy and Labor Mobility” Directorate, Mr. Todor Chobanov – Deputy Mayor in the field of „Culture, Education, Sport and Prevention of Addictions “, Mrs. Desislava Ignatova – Head of Intermediation Services at the Employment Agency, Mr. Emmanuel Arthur, Executive Director of Nestle Bulgaria and Mr. Svetlozar Petrov, Manager of JobTiger.

They greeted the employers and the visitors of the exhibition as well as wished success to this year’s edition of the forum.

“This forum has a great importance because it provides quick transition from the educational system to employment to the young people. It also contributes to the retention of the young graduates in our country. Through these initiatives we can conclude that the adults under the age of 24 are the least endangered group of unemployment in the country” – said Mr. Lazar Lazarov, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy.

“For 18 years the forum is the biggest and significant career exhibition in Bulgaria. This is because it is organized not on the university basis but on the basis of academic cities. Exactly this provides a better opportunity to young specialists from different higher education institutions to meet many well established and developed employers at one place and at the same time it allows to the companies to meet thousands of ambitious students and experts who are looking for serious career development. The number of the students who found their work place is 45 000. This proves that the business has an interest in recruiting young people” – said Mr. Petrov.

The forum took place within two days – 12th and 13th of March at The National Palace of Culture. The main goal of the event is to connect the employers with their potential employees as well as students and young specialists to discover opportunities for development. Beside the meeting with the employers on the stands, every visitor had the chance to get advice how to prepare well for job interview on the stand of JobTiger. On the stand of Nestle Bulgaria was organized CV workshop where everyone can ask questions regarding his CV. Part of the program was also the opportunity of language skills testing in the specially designated corners of Intellect language schools.

“National career days” 2019 will be held for eighteenth year between 12th of March and 8th of April in eight academic cities – Sofia, Varna, Burgas, Rousse, Svishtov, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo and Plovdiv. One of the unique features of the event is that it offers work places not only in the largest economic centers but also in smaller settlements, covering a large part of the Bulgarian regions

Every year “National career days” is attended between 10 and 15 thousand young people with an average of one in six visitors successfully starting work or internship. This means that the visit of the students and graduated specialists at the forum provides them a great chance for career start in some of the best companies in the country. As a result of that, during the years over 45 000 people has found work or internship. This is with a great importance now when finding the needed employees is a matter of survival for businesses in Bulgaria.

The companies – participants in National Career Days 2019 are over 180. They will introduce their vacancies and internship programs in different business sectors. After the event in Sofia, the career forum continue as follows:
