During Q3’2019, Telenor Bulgaria maintained the revenue and EBITDA year-on-year growth trends, that were observed during the first half of the year.
Total revenue for the quarter approached BGN 193m, up by 1.6% above the same period last year, mainly driven by improved average revenue per user (ARPU) which was BGN 15.9 for the quarter, or by 8% higher than in Q3’2018. Revenue growth, in combination with the ongoing efficiency efforts, resulted in an improved EBITDA, amounting to BGN 93m for the quarter, or 1.8% above Q3’2018 (comparable growth). As a result of the ongoing SIM-cards consolidation trend on the market, the Telenor customer base decreased slightly, compared to the same period of 2018, and stood at 3.08 million customers of which 21% constitute prepaid subscribers.
Network quality and customer experience remain in the focus of company investments in 2019. In Q3’2019 Telenor made available to customers access to all traffic passes of the Total+ tariffs at no additional charge and provided new services in its digital channels. In addition, Telenor started a series of 5G trials aiming to explore the potential and the opportunities of the new technology in different areas of everyday life.
