On November 27th, 2019 AIG confirmed the appointment of Teodor Atanasov as the new General Manager of its Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Teodor has extensive knowledge and experience of the CoE operations, having worked there since it was first established five years ago. Today, the Sofia CoE employs around 500 customer service experts, who serve AIG customers in more than 11 European countries.
In this role, Teodor will be responsible for the overall operational and business performance of the CoE, ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer experience for AIG’s clients in the UK and Europe. Teodor succeeds Christina Lucas in this role.
With strong financial services experience and expertise, Teodor’s appointment will help to strengthen business process operations and establish a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across the region.
Commenting on his new position, Teodor said,
“It is a great privilege to lead AIG’s Centre of Excellence, particularly in our company’s Centenary year. I believe that AIG’s presence in our country will continue to support talented Bulgarians to develop their careers in the insurance sector.”
Before joining AIG, Teodor held senior positions in risk and compliance at large multinational banking and financial services corporations. He holds an MBA from New Bulgarian University and a B.A. from the American University in Bulgaria.
