In the current difficult situation A1 team is driven by two main goals – to protect the health of its employees and customers and to ensure the normal functioning of its services which are crucial for the lives and the business of the customers. The company already transformed its way of working to respond to the challenging environment and to secure the connectivity and communication of the customers.
Moreover, aiming at preserving the health and safety of its customers during the COVID-19 epidemic in the country, A1 launched a special Digital Solidarity campaign encouraging them to stay home and protect themselves.
Although A1’s physical stores continue to work with customers, following strict safety protocol, the company encourages its customers to use all available online channels instead of going to a shop. A1 offers a wide range of online and self-service features to the subscribers – they can manage their services and pay their bills via My A1 app and A1.bg, they can use a Video Consultant in A1’s online shop to support them when purchasing a device, and A1 Video Assistant if technical support is needed over the phone.
As a first step A1 provided its private customers with free services and additional benefits to support them during the social isolation and while working and studying from home. For instance since the introduction of state of emergency A1 provides its customers in Bulgaria with 200 TV channels free of charge for Xplore TV and digital TV subscribers and 10,000 MB of mobile data .
A1 also takes care of the Bulgarian customers that are not in the country by giving away 1,000 MB of mobile roaming data for subscribers in roaming within EU and 50 additional minutes for calls for subscribers in roaming outside EU. You could find out more here. A1 also supports the digital education and work from home, which are part of our daily routine these days by free data traffic to the educational platform Ucha.se and free access to the web-conferencing solution Eyeson.
For the most vulnerable in the situation – the elderly people, A1 supported by the Ministry of Interior launched a free of charge application to protect them from telephone frauds. А1 Guard application is free of charge for all mobile customers regardless of their telecommunication provider and is also available for all A1 fixed-line phones. The innovative service aims at raising awareness on the telephone frauds’ problem and to offer a free of charge and easy to use service, which provides the people with an effective fraud prevention tool. The launch of the campaign is an answer to the Ministry’s expectations that the COVID-19 crisis could become a reason for increase in telephone frauds.
In addition to all of the above, A1 made another step to encourage its customers to follow the instructions of the authorities by including #StayHome message next to the operator’s logo on the screen of the devices of the customers.
Last but not least А1 donates funds for life-saving hospital equipment and medical essentials in favor of the Bulgarian society. On one hand A1 donated BGN 220,000 (EUR 110,000) to Alexandrovska Hospital for the purchase of 5 last generation respiratory machines needed for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. Once the epidemic situation is over they will remain at disposal of the hospital.
On the other hand, A1 donates BGN 1 to the Ministry of Health for every invoice payment made online via My A1 mobile application and its web based version available at A1.bg. The campaign starts on 24.03 and will continue till 30.04.2020. The donation will support medical centers’ where COVID-19 is treated.
