Bulgarian Consortium Wins Georgian Tender for Online Training Project Co-funded by the World Bank

A consortium between Space Cad and New Horizons Bulgaria EOOD (part of New Horizons Learning Centers – the largest independent IT training company in the world), has won a Georgian tender for delivering online trainings – a project which is co-funded by the World Bank. The project “Georgia National Innovation Ecosystem” (GENIE) is worth $ 23.5 million and is carried out under the auspices of the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA). The Bulgarian consortium was selected from candidates from the United States, India, the Czech Republic, Ukraine and a number of other countries.

GENIE started in 2016 with the idea and ambition to increase innovation activities in Georgia and to support the development of the country’s digital economy. For this purpose, by 2021, the plan is to create community centers which will provide Internet access to socially disadvantaged families and small businesses, as well as a number of activities to promote and develop digital skills and literacy of entrepreneurs. The trainings, organized by the Bulgarian consortium, will be completely free for the participants, with the aim of initially training 500 people, and at the next stage – another 2,500 more. All Georgian citizens can apply by submitting their CV on the project website. After an initial selection and a subsequent interview, the selected candidates will be such who, after completing the respective training, can successfully pass the official certification exam. United by a common goal and in partnership with GITA, the Bank of Georgia and the 500 Startups accelerator provide an additional $ 2.1 million to more than 70 startup companies.

“The project has ambitious goals and we are excited to have the opportunity to be part of it. Outside of Bulgaria, we have delivered trainings in Africa, Eastern and Western Europe, the United States, but Georgia is a different market. We see that the organizers approach the work with enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate. We are extremely happy for the opportunity that is presented to us, and we believe that we will not only live up to the high expectations of us, but better yet – we will exceed them ” – commented Nikolay Penev, CEO of New Horizons Bulgaria, and Balyo Dinev, CEO of Space Cad.

The companies in the consortium have extensive experience in the market and meet all the requirements, which makes them the preferred choice for a partner in the contested tender for delivering the online trainings. The criteria for the supplier are extremely high and strict, with the greatest weight being: the experience of the instructors and the supplier, references for previous projects, quality of the proposed implementation plan – approach and methodology, realistic work plan, balanced team with the right mix of skills.
