Progress, the leading provider of products to develop, deploy and manage high-impact business applications, announced that Lilia Messechkova, part of the leadership team at Progress in Bulgaria, has been appointed Vice President of Enterprise Products. In this role, she will be responsible for the creation and execution of the strategy of several products from the company’s portfolio and will be leading a team of more than 120 software engineers, product managers and UX professionals.
In her previous role, Messechkova served as a Senior Director, Software Engineering. She joined Progress in 2011 and has held various leadership positions since. During her 16-year career and as a part of several international companies, she has successfully managed large-scale projects and led global engineering teams working on complicated software applications. Messechkova has extensive experience in building highly effective teams and processes, leading to innovation and business results.
In addition to product management, Messechkova is engaged with promoting inclusion and diversity as well as encouraging more women to consider a career in tech. In 2020 she received a Bronze recognition in the “Women Helping Women” category at the 17th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business in the US. Messechkova earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Electronic Business and Electronic Management from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.”
