Since the beginning of February InterContinental Sofia has been taking part in the initiative “Hot lunches for Bulgarian Hospitals” supporting doctors on the frontline with the Covid-19 pandemic. The campaign started at the end of 2020 by initiative of Svetla Parker and Anne Griffin and includes seven hospitals in Sofia with Covid divisions. At the moment more than 30 different companies are taking part, including restaurants, hotels and food delivery companies, and the total number of delivered lunches is more than 14,000.
Every month InterContinental Sofia donates to the hospitals carefully prepared meals, packaged and delivered by its team.
“We are more than happy that in this challenging time we are able to support the doctors looking after us 24/7 with all their energy and devotion.“ – shares the General Manager, Mr. Angelo Zuccala. „Social responsibility and care for the environment are important part of our policy and business culture and go hand by hand with ensuring healthy and secure environment for our guests and colleagues.” – adds Mr. Zuccala. This is not the first time the hotel takes part of charitable and voluntary initiatives – some of the campaigns in which the team participates annually are “Let’s Clean Bulgaria for a Day”, “The New Forest of Sofia”, “The International Earth Hour” as well as internal donation initiatives supporting institutions for the elderly and people in need.
