Sweet Easter bread and other delicacies delighted the victims of violence accommodated in the “Samaritan House” Crisis Center, the people from the “St. St. Kozma and Damyan” Daycare Center, those living in the family-type accommodation centers for children and youth deprived of parental care in Stara Zagora, as well as the residents at the Daycare Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities in Galabovo.

“ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3” ranks among the major employers and active donors in the region of Stara Zagora and Galabovo, where its thermal power plant is located. In recent years, the company has allocated over BGN 4.5 million for projects for the benefit of society. The major part of the funding is being directed to help local communities. Last year, the company took a number of initiatives in the context of the fight against COVID-19, carrying out urgent repairs, providing food packages and protective supplies for a number of local social and healthcare institutions.
“ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3” owns and operates the first lignite-fired thermal power plant in Southeast Europe, which operates in full compliance with the highest European standards for occupational safety and environmental protection. The power plant annually produces 10% of the electricity in Bulgaria, using local energy sources and thus contributes to ensuring the energy security and independence of the country. Over BGN 1.4 billion have been invested in ensuring the TPP’s reliable operation and in environmental protection measures. The shareholders are the international energy company ContourGlobal (73%) and the National Electricity Company (27%).
