On Fourth of July, U.S. Ambassador Herro Mustafa and several AmCham members marked the America’s birthday by visiting the Pediatrics and Pediatric Burn Unit at the Pirogov Hospital. Together they brought some joy to the little patients by giving them books, coloring books, toys, crayons.
Ambassador Mustafa was welcomed by the Director of the hospital Prof. Asen Baltov, and she was accompanied by Krassimir Nenov, Executive Director, ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3, Christoph Glaser, General Manager, Hilton Sofia; Luka Chichov, General Manager, IQVIA Bulgaria; Ivan Lissikov, General Manager, Sunfoods Bulgaria (McDonald’s Bulgaria), and Yavor Nikolov, General Manager, Sensata Bulgaria.
The American Ambassador visited together with Ass. Prof. Iren Tsocheva, Head of Pediatrics, the Pediatrics with its renovated rooms and equipment. Then the head of the Burn Unit Prof. Maya Argirova presented the renewed children’s sector, and the Dr. Anastasiya Viktorova presented the tendencies in curing the child burn, as well as the aim of Pirogov Hospital to have the most modern technologies and methods for treatment.
“I am impressed of the transformation of the pediatric units, as well as of the ways the Pirogov team treats children”, said Ambassador Mustafa. The U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria and America for Bulgaria Foundation partner and support Pirogov Hospital since the beginning of the process of transformation of the Children’s Unit into more child-friendly service.
