Starting July 2021, Lyuba Paounova is Managing Director of Bayer Bulgaria EOOD. She will combine the new position with the current one of Country Group Head of HR Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova. At the same time Jorge Levinson becomes Country Commercial Lead Bayer Pharmaceuticals for Bulgaria adding to his current role of Country Commercial Lead Pharmaceuticals for Romania and Moldova, based in Bucharest.
Ekaterina Karpuzova, who was Country Commercial Lead Pharmaceuticals and Managing Director of Bayer Bulgaria, continues her professional career in Bayer Pharmaceuticals as Manager Business Operations and Innovation for the Region of Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in Basel, Switzerland.

She joins Bayer in 2015 as Head of Human Resources for Bayer in Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova. Prior that she has lead positions within HR structures at Alfa Finance Holding and Eurobank EFG Bulgaria. Lyuba holds master’s degree in Strategic management from Sofia University and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development – CIPD.”

He has started his career in the Pharmaceutical Industry in 2005 in Bayer Spain. During his 16 years in the company, he has occupied different leadership positions across many geographies including Ukraine, Morocco, Iran and Germany. Jorge holds a University degree in Business administration and computer systems and a master‘s degree in Supply chain management and Marketing.
Sustainability & performance in the Country Group Romania, Bulgaria and Republic of Moldova
Local operations of the Country Group reached a turnover of over 357 million EUR in 2020, out of which the Crop Science division has 62%, the Pharmaceuticals division 29% and Consumer Health division 9%. With the seed production facility in Sinesti, Romania, Bayer reached seeds exports of over 43 million EUR in 2020. The Country Group has over 480 employees in the three countries, with the main offices in Bucharest and Sofia.
