The International Hackathon “Hack for a Sustainable Future” is Оpen

Esri, the global pioneer in the field of Geographic Information Systems and technology startup media TechCrunch, are calling on everyone with an interest in software development, information technology, design and innovative products to present bold solutions to the most pressing global challenges.

Teams can submit their original projects until September 13 on topics related to environmental issues, such as climate change and the use of fossil fuels, as well as other socially significant issues such as COVID-19 and social inequality.

The Hack for a Sustainable Future event asks developers not only to build apps that address today’s challenges, but to create solutions that introduce a new perspective to our ongoing global efforts—the perspective of geography. To help bring their applications to life, participants will have free access to market-leading technology: ArcGIS Platform, a new location platform as a service (PaaS) from Esri.

ArcGIS Platform also offers a full range of mapping APIs and SDKs so developers can build with their preferred mapping library. Comprehensive documentation and mentorship support from Esri tech experts will be available for those who are new to the PaaS.

Registration for the event and submission of projects are open until September 13, 2021. The winners will be announced on September 23. They will receive cash prizes, as well as the opportunity to present their apps during TechCrunch’s Disrupt 2021, the best conference for technology startups. All solutions will be presented in an online gallery.
