The partnership, which ladders up to Citi’s global Partnership with the IPC, will support Citi’s mission to foster a more inclusive society by shining a spotlight on the Bulgarian Paralympic Movement
Citi Bulgaria has extended its partnership with the National Paralympic Organisation of Bulgaria by another year. The agreement builds on Citi’s existing international relationship with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and with 22 other National Paralympic Committees (NPCs).
This mission-driven partnership will continue to support Citi’s global efforts to raise awareness for the Paralympic Movement, support Para athletes, and help change perceptions of people with disabilities.
“At Citi we are committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive society,” said Bulgaria CCO Stanislava Taneva. “This is why we’re proud to extend our partnership with the Paralympic Organisation of Bulgaria and support their amazing Para athletes as they compete on the global stage. For more than 20 years, Citi Bulgaria has supported programs that enable progress in the community, and we couldn’t be happier to work alongside an organization whose mission aligns with ours.”
In 2019, as part of an AmCham Bulgaria initiative, Citi Bulgaria supported several Bulgarian Para athletes at the World Para Athletics Competition in Dubai, an event Citi sponsored. Earlier this year, The Paralympic Organisation of Bulgaria received funding from the IPC’s COVID-19 Relief Fund, which Citi helped to fund.
At the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, Bulgarian para-athletes made Bulgaria proud by winning two silver medals in athletics – Hristiyan Stoyanov (1500m) and Ruzhdi Ruzhdi (shotput).
“We are thrilled to have Citi Bulgaria partner with the Paralympic Organisation of Bulgaria for another year,” said Ilia Lalov, CEO of the Paralympic Organisation of Bulgaria. “We look forward to working together to support our amazing para-athletes train and excel both in the field and in life, but also help bring about positive change in the perceptions of people with disabilities.
Citi Bulgaria will help support the day-to-day needs of the Paralympic Organisation of Bulgaria through employee volunteerism and other activities.
