In the last 10 years the company has invested over BGN 10 million in improving the living environment of the people in the region of Galabovo and Stara Zagora

ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 received the prestigious Business Honoris Causa Award for its contribution to improving the living environment for people in the municipality of Galabovo. The award for responsible business practices was presented to the Executive Director Krassimir Nenov by Alexander Nikolov, Minister of Energy.

ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3, which produces over 10% of the country’s electricity, is among the largest donors in the Stara Zagora and Galabovo regions, where the power plant is located. The company’s social investments are focused in the fields of education, healthcare, sports for children and youth, environmental protection and support for people with disabilities and other vulnerable social groups.

For us, as a responsible business, it is extremely important to actively participate in the development of local communities. Our power plant is in this area, our employees live here, their children grow up in this environment. We strive to improve the quality of life by allocating an average of BGN 700,000 annually for social investments aimed exclusively at our neighbors in Galabovo and Stara Zagora. Every smile on the new playground, every chat with the new English teacher, every goal on the new playground at school change the lives of our neighbors for the better.

Nadya Sinigerska- Bohorova, Communications Manager of ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3.

The Business Honoris Causa Awards were founded by the 24 Chasa newspaper in order to distinguish socially responsible entrepreneurship in Bulgaria and are presented for the first time.
