On July 2nd, 2022, Saturday, AmCham Bulgaria celebrated the U.S. Independence Day with a huge family party at Sofia Tech Park. The event welcomed more than 900 guests – both elderly and children – with a program that included Lyubo Kirov and “hug or handshake”, a charity raffle, party cake, and fireworks. Master of Ceremony was Tony McMurray, General Manager of Ingram Micro Bulgaria.
“The AmCham community is getting stronger and we do hope that it will continue having its leading role for achieveing our common business goals. With a party like today’s, we would like to celebrate together with our American friends the birth of their country and nation. For more that 240 years, America is a stand for democracy, innovation, rule of law and justice,” pointed out Olivier Marquette, AmCham Bulgaria President.
“Yes, our community is getting stronger thanks to the efforts of our Board, our Committees, and the members of the Chamber, and we are having for a partner and ally Ambassador Mustafa and our colleagues at the U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria,” – emphasized Petar T. Ivanov, AmCham CEO.
“Happy Birthday, America!” – greeted the audience the U.S. Ambassador to Bulgaria H.E. Herro Mustafa. She pointed out the strong sides of the American Chamber and the need for further development and upgrade of the commercial ties and friendships between the United States and Bulgaria.
“In one’s career, every one of us has started from somewhere. We have received support from our families, our friends, and mentors. Today I am addressing you to support the talented children of Bulgaria,” – appealed Dimitar Berbatov, “Dimitar Berbatov Foundation”.
Thanks to the active participation of the guests, who bought raffle tickets, we collected BGN 8,260 that will be donated to Dimitar Berbatov Foundation.
“We are glad to have you all here today. We haven’t done such a party since 2019 due to the pandemic. Today we are celebrating the 25th AmCham Independence Day Celebration. I am certain that we are also celebrating life. Thanks to science, measures, doctors, our own responsibility, and probably luck, we can gather here,“ – addressed the audience Tony McMurray, General Manager of Ingram Micro Bulgaria and AmCham Board Member.
AmCham Bulgaria would like to thank all of the sponsors, partners, and vendors that made the event such a success.
Diamond Sponsor was Asarel Medet JCS.
Golden Sponsors were A1 Bulgaria, America for Bulgaria Foundation, Accenture Bulgaria, Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria, Dundee Precious Metals Bulgaria, and Glavbolgarstroy Holding.
Silver Sponsors were BMW, eMAG, EY Bulgaria, Force Delta, Iris Park, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, operated by Selectium, and Sofia Tech Park.
Such a party wouldn’t be possible without the support of our long-term partners such as McDonald’s Bulgaria and McCafé, Coca-Cola, Kamenitza and Stella Artois, Jack Daniel’s, LEKI, Accenture, and Pain D’or.
A great event is not possible without a number of contributors. In our attempt to attract our audience to donate funds to the causes that we support in our events, we rely on members and friends that contribute with material prizes that tease and indulge their future owners. Independence Day Parties are not an exception. In the 2022 celebration, we had the pleasure to have those contributors whose products and services persuaded our guests to buy raffle tickets. This formula, plus having a super-star like Dimitar Berbatov proved its success – we collected BGN 8,260 that will go to “Dimitar Berbatov Foundation”.
We would like to thank all of our contributors to the Independence Day Celebration in 2022.
