Progress, the trusted provider of application development and infrastructure software, announced that the application process for its annual Women in Tech Scholarship Program is now open. The scholarships, worth a total of BGN 6,000, aim to increase the representation of women in the IT industry, encouraging more young women to choose IT as their career path.
The scholarships are open to women in their second, third and fourth year of studying computer science, software engineering, informatics, information systems, applied mathematics or a similar major from accredited universities in Bulgaria. The submissions will be evaluated based on academic performance, cover letter/essay, and STEM-related extracurricular activities. The application process is open until April 6, 2023, and the documents can be submitted via this link.
The winners will receive a one-time scholarship worth BGN 3,000 and will be invited to visit the Progress office in Sofia, where they will learn more about the company and meet with seasoned professionals from the team, as well as representatives of the internal community supporting the professional development of women in the company – Progress for Her.

At the same time, it will provide them with the opportunity to get to know the software industry and the career opportunities it offers.”
Progress continues to maintain its Women in Tech scholarship fund at the American University in Bulgaria as well with an annual donation of 7,500 EUR. Since the start of the initiative in 2020, Progress has donated a total of nearly BGN 52,000 to support the next generation of female IT leaders.
