DISCORDIA digitizes its HR processes with HeRMeS of TechnoLogica

DISCORDIA – the largest transport and logistics company in Bulgaria and a leader in Europe, digitalized the company’s HR processes. This change in the internal labor procedures is in line with the company’s long-standing green policies. It aims to establish itself as one of the most modern organizations in the country. At present, DISCORDIA has already implemented and is successfully using the HeRMeS digital employee dossier, which offers a large number of Self-Service functionalities. These include the ability to quickly and easily digitally request leave, obtain employee memos, and sign employment documents such as contracts, annexes, etc., all of which completely eliminate the use of paper by digitally signing documents. DISCORDIA’s good experience in this direction was presented during the seminar “Digital Employee Dossier in HeRMeS?” by TechnoLogica on May 10 in Sofia, together with that of Coca-Cola.

As a result of its rapid growth, DISCORDIA hires hundreds of employees per year and currently employs over 2,300 people in offices in Bulgaria, Romania, and Ukraine. Development plans call for this number to reach 10,000 by 2030, and this is one of the main factors behind the company’s decision to take major steps towards digitalization and optimization of labor relations with its employees.

At the beginning of this year, DISCORDIA also started the integration of two of the most advanced software systems worldwide – OTM (Oracle Transportation Management), implemented by Inspirage (Oracle’s platinum partner), and an ERP system – SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud, which is being implemented by KPMG ITS. All of these digital transformation steps are part of the company’s strategy to continue to establish itself as a technology leader in its industry. To this end, it has invested more than €5 million, seeking the best partners and software solutions.

“The digitalization of the company’s employer-employee processes is a natural stage in DISCORDIA’s digital evolution and is in line with our values and our realized social responsibility towards the preservation of nature and the sustainable development of society. The integration of TechnoLogica’s services through HeRMeS and Eurotrust, a Certification Services Provider (eSignature), besides being a complex process, was also the first joint project of these two companies. All the effort was worth it as on the one hand we improved the customer experience for our employees and on the other hand we minimized the use of paper. These are directions in which the company is working hard through a number of programs,” said Jean Vaytilingam, Director of Human Resources at DISCORDIA.

DISCORDIA, founded in 1992 in Varna with only 2 vehicles, today exemplifies a sustainable business model, leadership, and vision in the sector. Over the past 10 years, the company has experienced an average growth of 38% per year, consolidating its position as the largest transport company in the country, a leader in the Balkans, and part of the top 20 in Europe. DISCORDIA has won numerous awards, including a distinction in the “Leader in the Road Freight Transport Sector” category at the annual “TRUE LEADERS” awards organized by ICAP CRIF Bulgaria, and a prize from the 2022 Annual Socially Responsible Strategic Management Awards of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in the “Environment” category for its eco-friendly and economical driving program.
