AmCham Bulgaria represented by Ivan Mihaylov, CEO, and Daniel Kiryakov, Communications and Public Affairs Manager, attended the Three Seas Business Forum, Bucharest 2023, and series of meetings during the main program and side events, incl. meet-ups with Michal Kanownik, CEE Digital Coalition Chair and Digital Poland President, AmCham Romania, AmCham Moldova, etc. The event was held on September 6-7, 2023 at the Romanian capital in two main venues: The Palace of the Parliament and the JW Marriott. One of the major side-event was the “U.S.-Romanian Economic Partnership” Conference organized by our sister AmCham Romania. It welcomed 200 high-profile guests from the region. As expected the biggest delegations at the two-days forum were from Romania and Poland.
Bulgaria was represented by Mariya Gabriel, VPM and Minister of Foreign Affairs who attended the Summit, along with heads of states and prime ministers of almost all 12 (then) member countries, and the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry. The other government officials were Milena Stoycheva, Minister of Innovation and Growth, Nikolay Nikolov, Deputy Minister of Energy.
From the AmCham Bulgaria members there were Att. Borislav Boyanov, BOYANOV & Co. (former AmCham Bulgaria President), Nikola Gazdov, Enery, Att. Nikolay Voynov, Penkov, Markov & Partners.
The Three Seas Summit and Business Forum were successful in many terms.
- Greece was accepted as partnering country.
- The population in 3SI region grows to 120 million people.
- Partners remain committed to improve energy, digitalization, and infrastructure.
- Their joint perspective to support Ukraine is firm.
- Regional cooperation is a must – that was the bottom-line of all government officials and business people
- Ukraine and Moldova are granted partner status.
- 3SI has the support of the 🇺🇸 United States and the 🇪🇺 European Union.
As a general outcome for Bulgaria: our country and business should continue engaging with 3SI in political and business levels, while pursuing regional goals with positive impact on and benefits to the national priorities in the three pillars of the initiative + innovation and education.

AmChams 3SI Bucharest Declaration

In the context of the Sept 6&7 Three Seas Initiative Summit and Business Forum in Bucharest, AmChams in the 3SI countries signed a joint statement to reaffirm the business community support to the #3SI agenda.
