Messages from the leaders of the initiative:

“With this initiative we are building on and continuing the AmCham Education Program, which we held in 2022 at the NBU and the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University. We believe that through this hackathon and the specific case studies the students will work on, we will successfully integrate what we have learned into practice, new solutions will be generated for the participating companies, and the mentors from the companies will share and exchange their knowledge and experience with the student participants. Both sides, the students participating in the Hackathon and the mentors from the companies, will challenge the other side, both sides will learn from the other, and both sides will get a few steps closer to the other. This symbiosis we believe will be an interesting and engaging way of interaction between businesses, universities, and students. All parties will be enriched, gain, and create new knowledge that will be extremely useful for their development. I am happy that this initiative was proposed and implemented by members of the American Chamber of Commerce and I am grateful for the partnership with the two universities.”- said Zlatina Kushkieva, Co-Chair of the Human Capital and Education Committee at AmCham Bulgaria.

For Technical University Sofia (TU-Sofia) it is a great honor and privilege to be part of this Hackathon, which will give students a very interesting and attractive way to learn new knowledge. TU-Sofia has traditions in working with the business community and our entire team of lecturers is very happy that TU-Sofia will partner with Amcham and the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University. We hope that this is just the beginning of a wonderful collaboration and that there are no limits to dreams and possibilities!”, commented from the Technical University Sofia.

“The partnership between the academy and business is in the DNA of the Faculty of Economics – from the very beginning in the early 1990s, we have been working with foreign and Bulgarian companies – giving lectures, providing case studies, and solving problems. With AmCham, we are deepening our partnership in the field of human capital management and the use of the latest technologies in this area. I hope that connecting our students with those from Technical University – Sofia within the Hackathon will lead not only to more interesting solutions but also to real new companies” said  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Todor Yalamov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University. Kl. Ohridski”.
