The 9th Edition of the Vivacom Regional Grant has Been Launched

Vivacom and the Bulgarian Center for Not-for-Profit Law have announced the all-new format of the Vivacom Regional Grant – the largest socially responsible initiative they are running in partnership for the 9th consecutive year.

In the completely renewed program, Vivacom significantly simplifies the application process, introduces an accelerator program and doubles the size of grants for NGOs.

“As a company with operations across the country, it is critical for us to continue to support local organizations that are working to solve specific problems. This year we are doubling the amount of grant a project can receive from BGN 5,000 to BGN 10,000 and the total amount we will donate will be BGN 100,000. In this way we aim to help NGOs to be even more effective in developing their ideas and achieving better results”, said Nikolay Andreev, CEO of Vivacom.

Vivacom will accept applications from today until 18 February at www.vivacomfund.bg/regionalgrant/apply. The best and most innovative will receive a grant of up to BGN 10 000 from the telco. The priority areas where Vivacom is looking to support significant ideas remain education and environmental protection.

The changes also include a simplified application process and form – organisations will now submit a one-page concept proposal. Another significant change in the ninth edition is the introduction of an accelerator programme.

“After 8 years of supporting good ideas to develop local communities and the change achieved so far by people for people, we are highly motivated to accelerate the educational and environmental potential of the projects to contribute together to the sustainable development of the regions. Therefore, together with experts from the Bulgarian Center for Not-for-Profit Law, the finalists will go through a series of three labs to transform their ideas into real demonstration projects for example, increase their communication capacity and networking ability”, commented Nadia Shabani, BCNL Director.

“In every country where United Group is present, it is extremely important for us to carry out local initiatives to bring positive change to the lives of as many people as possible. That is why we decided to completely change the Vivacom Regional Grant, making it even more effective and relevant to the local context and the needs of local communities,” said Jovana Lukić, CSR Director of United Group.

Non-profit legal entities registered for public benefit, community centers and boards of trustees of schools and kindergartens, as well as organizations that have already won a grant in previous years can apply for Vivacom grant funding. There is no limit to the number of projects that each civil society organisation can apply for.

So far, with the Vivacom Regional Grant, the company has supported 108 projects of 98 organizations for a total amount of over BGN 500 000. With the increase in the amount at the end of this year, the total donation will be just over BGN 600 000. The finalists in the ninth edition will be announced in March and the projects will be implemented by the end of the year.
