On September 26th, 2024, the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (AmCham) held its annual General Assembly. It unanimously approved the 2023 Financial Statements, registered auditor for 2023, and the 2024 Budget. These decisions mark a significant step in ensuring continued financial stability, transparency, and organizational focus as AmCham looks forward to the upcoming year.
The approved 2024 Budget ensures that AmCham will be equipped to implement the strategic priorities laid out during the Board of Directors Strategic Meeting, as well as the Committees Priorities, thus reinforcing its commitment to being among the most active business associations in Bulgaria’s economic development, policies developments, implementing the desired reforms in many sectors so that the country has a better integration into the European Union and in the global markets.
Stanislava Taneva, First Vice President, chaired the General Assembly. She opened the event by emphasizing the Chamber’s role in supporting Bulgaria’s integration into key international frameworks, such as adopting the euro and joining the OECD and Schengen. She lauded the resilience and strength of the AmCham community amidst the political and economic challenges of 2023. “Our commitment to fostering transatlantic business relationships and driving sustainable economic growth has never been more relevant,” she remarked.
Ivan Mihaylov, CEO, presented the 2023 Board of Directors Report, highlighting AmCham’s role as a proactive voice in Bulgaria’s business and policy landscape, as well as the strong focus on membership throughout the year. The report reviewed the Chamber’s achievements in advocacy and partnership building as a logical continuation of the efforts of the Board, Team, and Members.
The General Assembly concluded with a note of optimism and encouragement from Stanislava Taneva, thanking all members for their dedication and active engagement. The event closed with her call to continue strengthening transatlantic relations and supporting the mission of AmCham Bulgaria in the years ahead. Ivan Mihaylov added that the stronger all the members are, the stronger the Chamber will become.
