How to Apply ESG in Your Business: The Conference “ESG in Practice: Governance for Sustainable Growth” Provides the Answers

On November 8, 2024, the conference “ESG in Practice: Managing for More Sustainable Growth” will take place, organized jointly by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (AmCham) and the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GBCIC). The event will be held at the Hilton Sofia Hotel, in partnership with Aurubis Bulgaria and EY denkstatt.

The conference aims to delve deeply into ESG topics currently impacting businesses, including regulatory requirements, expectations from business partners and companies in the supply chain, choosing the right strategies and solutions for internal processes, and more. The main argument of the organizers is that business is the driving force of the green transformation, and it is expected to provide the real solutions to achieve the goals. Participating companies will showcase real examples of projects they have completed and the progress they have made over the last two years. The forum will include businesses from various sectors of the economy: energy, chemical industry, mining, retail chains, food industry, and more.

Furthermore, the Green Transition would not be possible without adequate financing through commercial and investment banks both at the national and European level. The event will also address the topic of climate change, with a focus on biodiversity.

During the conference, the results of the latest survey on the readiness of Bulgarian businesses to implement ESG requirements will be presented, titled “ESG Policies and Practices – How Far Has Bulgarian Business Come in Applying Them?“, which EY is conducting for the first time among Bulgarian companies.
