We are thrilled to celebrate Prof. Rosen Dimov, MD, Head of General Surgery at Kaspela Hospital in Plovdiv, Bulgaria and Deputy Rector for University-Hospital Coordination at MU-Plovdiv, for his remarkable contributions to Bulgarian Healthcare System. In recognition of his achievements, Prof. Dimov has been honored with the 2024 award for “Contribution to the Development and Application of Innovative Medicine and Unique Techniques.” This prestigious accolade highlights his pioneering role in the adoption of robotic surgery in Bulgaria.

Prof. Dimov’s journey in da Vinci robotic surgery began in 2020 when he obtained his da Vinci surgery certification. Since then, he has performed over 320 surgeries, specializing in colorectal, hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB), and pancreatic robotic surgery. His exceptional work in pancreatic surgery has earned him national recognition from the Bulgarian Doctor’s Society this year.
