Bulgarian Healthcare Requires Additional Investments from European Union Funds – Position

Bulgarian healthcare needs more efficiently and transparently allocated funds from the European Union and other international partners to provide better, people-centered, and system-supporting services. This was the main conclusion from the discussion titled, “Solutions for More Effective Investment of European and International Funds in the Healthcare Sector,” organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (AmCham) on December 2, 2024, at the House of Europe (Representation of the European Commission and the European Parliament in Bulgaria). The event was part of the priorities outlined by AmCham’s Healthcare Committee.

Following the discussion, the Healthcare Committee prepared a written position that was sent on December 9, 2024 to the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Healthcare, Ministry of Innovations and Growth, the Members of the National Assembly that have solid healthcare expertise and background, as well as to the Bulgarian Members of the European Parliament, and the Mayor of Sofia. It was send to all of the invited stakeholders and partners.
