Following the productive meeting with the Minister of Justice Georgi Georgiev on February 14, 2025, AmCham Bulgaria sent on July 9th, 2025, sent a formal letter proposing the agreed collaboration between both institutions to be formalized in participation in a working group on the needed improvement of the Bulgarian Commerce Act.
The letter reminds that the Commerce Act Major Overhauling Initiative was initiated by AmCham Bulgaria in 2022, starting with organizing a group of subject matter leaders that formed a working group to prepare a concept, plan and topics for further discussions with legal experts. It also outlines the series of activities undertaken since then that included a consultation with the legal experts of the bilateral chambers, with representatives of the Commercial Units of major courts in Bulgaria, etc.
The letter concludes with a request to held another topical meeting where to discuss the very next joint steps.
