The Sixth Edition of the “Internet for Everyone” Program Reaches Nearly 80 Libraries Across the Country

Free digital skills trainings will reach over 2,000 adults by the end of 2025
The sessions are held in person, in small groups, and led by library experts.

The sixth edition of A1’s “Internet for Everyone” program has been launched, helping older adults acquire practical digital skills and confidence in using mobile devices. This year, the initiative includes 70 community centers with library activities and 8 regional libraries from all regions of the country — all part of the network of the Global Libraries – Bulgaria Foundation, a partner of the program.

The new edition of the program focuses on live, in-person trainings led by experts from libraries and community centers. This approach allows participants to interact directly with instructors, ask questions, share experiences, and practice what they learn through hands-on exercises.

The free trainings are designed for people aged 65 and over from various backgrounds and professions, united by their desire to stay active and connected in the digital world. By the end of the program, more than 2,000 participants will have gained new knowledge and confidence in using technology.

Participants share that the trainings spark their curiosity, make it easier for them to communicate with younger relatives through video calls and chat applications, and give them a sense of belonging to an active community.

The program includes 12 practical topics – from basic smartphone use and internet access, to communication apps and online services, to protecting personal data, recognizing scams, and staying safe online. All participating libraries are equipped with training videos, printed materials with summarized information, tablets for practice, and self-assessment tests.

The full list of locations is available on the program’s webpage, where interested individuals can find the nearest library and register for a course.

At the end of the year, a prize raffle will be organized for participants who have successfully completed the trainings – another incentive for active participation and persistence.
