Forming an Bulgaria’s New Lobby Act Ad Hoc Working Group

Dear Members,

Following the long term monitoring and advocating for a fair, modern, and just Lobby Act in Bulgaria, you are kindly invited to take part in a ad hoc working group on the recently introduced public consultation of the Transparency and Integrity in Governance Draft Act (TIGD or Lobby Act here).

The deadline for submission positions, recommendations, and suggestions to the draft act is March 2nd, 2026. So, to be ready our internal deadline should be February 27, 2026, Friday.

Background Information

Over the past several years, AmCham Bulgaria was being active and advocated for a fair, modern, and needed Lobby.Act of Bulgaria.

Our efforts included:

  • Discussing the future Lobby Act with the current Minister of Justice, at the introductory meeting we had an year ago.
  • Partnership in the Business Integrity Club created by Transparency International Bulgaria.
  • Rapid response in multiple times on occasions various parties and public players to introduce a harmful for the NGO sector legislation.
  • Cooperating with other sister bilateral chambers, such as the German, Swiss, French, British, etc.
  • Discussing this matter in the RLLR Committee, and create expectations of a future potential engagement.
