On March 25th, 2026, the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, together with Djingov, Gouginski, Kyutchukov & Velichkov Law Firm gathered business and government representatives for a high profile business breakfast in order to discuss the Bulgarian Foreign Development Investment Screening Regime.
Ivan Mihaylov, AmCham BG CEO and Omourtag Petkov, AmCham BG Rule of Law and Legislative Reform Committee Co-Chair and Partner at DGKV opened the event, stating the importance of the Regime and reaffirming the Chamber’s involvement with the topic.
The event featured a panel, which was made up of Valentin Bojinov, Partner DGKV, Vladislav Antonov, Senior Associate DGKV, Mira Yosifova, Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth and Angel Ivanov, Acting Executive Director of Invest Bulgaria Agency.
The panel outlined, that the Regime can be very good and useful, however, more work needs to be done towards properly defining the scope and points of the Regime and make the Screening process more streamlined and accessible for companies.
