Recognizing the importance of complying with the regulations about the sustainable development of any organization in Bulgaria and Europe, and globally, AmCham Bulgaria initiated a more in-depth approach towards the EU policies in that complex area with the establishment of the EU Green Deal Working Group in the Spring of 2021. This logical line continued with the kick-off of the ESG Working Group and the related topics in 2023, thus initiating a grass-rooting approach that was well recognized by a majority of our members.
Since June 2024, the working group was transformed into ESG Committee after the approval of the Board of the Directors of the AmCham Bulgaria CEO proposal.
Reflecting the evolving global and European landscape of corporate responsibility and regulatory compliance, the AmCham ESG Committee has officially changed its name to the Sustainability Committee. This decision, proposed by the Committee Co-Chairs and approved by the AmCham Bulgaria Board of Directors, came into effect in March 2025.
