Joint celebration of Thanksgiving and our members’ success

Dear Members and Guests,

We are happy to announce that this year AmCham Bulgaria will present the AmChampion Awards 2022 during the traditional Thanksgiving Charity Celebration.

Looking for synergies and adding more value to our members and increasing the benefits to our stakeholders, we decided to merge our 20-year rich celebration of this traditional family holiday in North America with the initiative that recognizes the most active members of our community.

Again, our goal for that glorious night is to help less fortunate and disadvantaged people change their lives for the better. This year we will do good together again!

We expect over 250 individuals – AmCham members representatives, U.S. citizens, and guests – to gather together to celebrate the holiday and to open their hearts to support our causes. This year we have a record to beat: in 2022 we collected BGN 64,000 for both causes.

Can we do much more in 2023 together?

Our Causes

It is expected that for a consecutive year, we will support two programs managed by our member BCause Foundation: “Get Ready to Succeed” and “Support Women Victims of Domestic Violence”. AmCham and its members are among the long-lasting contributors to both programs.

Get Ready to Succeed Fund

Get Ready to Succeed
is a scholarship program, founded by BCause Foundation, supporting excelling students who have lost one or both their parents and have been raised in institutions or by relatives. The scholarships are awarded based on academic merit.

The AmCham members are generous and long-term contributors to the program, not only with their financial support but also in providing them with opportunities for internships and career options.

For 18 years now we have awarded 1,877 scholarships of over BGN 2,842,800, all provided by private donors – companies and individuals.

Fund to Support Women Victims of Domestic Violence

The Fund to Support Women Victims of Domestic Violence by BCause Foundation is targeted at organizations that provide legal, psychological, and social consultations and support crisis accommodation centers.

The types of activities to be supported are:

  • Psychological and social counseling, mediation in contact with other institutions, counseling with lawyers and lawsuits under the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence, and Hotline for Victims.
  • Mobile work with open reception in small settlements, so that women from the most remote villages can gain access to support in a situation of violence.
  • Grants are distributed through competitions among organizations working in the field.
  • Food, including baby food, medicines, clothes, shoes, and accommodation.
  • Professional courses in manicure, pedicure, hairdressing, and waitresses. The fund is powered by corporate and private donations.
  • Medical care – a large part of the injured are uninsured and have no income to pay for a medical examination and a medical certificate
