Members are cordially invited to a meeting of the AmCham Energy and Mineral Resources Committee presenting the Draft AmCham White Paper “Potential Measures for a Secure, Sustainable аnd Competitive Power Sector in Bulgaria”

Purpose of the Meeting

The meeting will focus on the presentation and discussion of the Draft AmCham White Paper: “Potential Measures for a Secure, Sustainable and Competitive Power Sector in Bulgaria.”

The White Paper has been developed by a working group established in 2025, comprising members of the Energy and Mineral Resources Committee. The initiative reflects the Committee’s priorities and aligns with the broader strategic agenda of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria.

The paper outlines a focused set of practical recommendations to support the development of a secure, sustainable, and competitive power sector by 2030. It provides a holistic view of Bulgaria’s power system, covering the role and future development of conventional thermal generation, renewable energy and battery storage, natural gas, nuclear power, and electricity transmission and distribution networks. The White Paper is intended to foster constructive dialogue among policymakers, industry, and investors, and to contribute to the development of a coherent and forward-looking energy policy framework for Bulgaria.

The primary objective of this meeting is to present the Draft White Paper to the Committee members for review, discussion, and endorsement. Your feedback will be instrumental in finalizing the document before it is presented to the broader AmCham Bulgaria membership as an official policy paper.

Members will have the opportunity to propose changes directly into a shared document accessible upon request to iva@amcham.bg. Please suggest changes only where you identify a need for substantial revisions, including key priorities or topics you believe should be added or reconsidered, and use Track Changes for all suggested edits.

The second key objective of the meeting will be to discuss a Stakeholder Engagement Plan, including communications strategy and roadmap for engaging government institutions, industry stakeholders, partner organizations, and other relevant audiences to maximize the paper’s impact.
