Introduction of Empower Her Initiative in Bulgaria
In January 2023, the U.S. Department of State released United States strategy on global women’s economic security in which overarching strategy is said that: “Women’s economic security is essential to the realization of their human rights and fundamental freedoms and to strengthening communities, promoting peaceful nations, and building resilient, growing economies. We envision a world where every person has equitable opportunity to engage in decent work that promotes dignity, to enjoy social and labor protections, to access professional networks, finance, and digital technologies, to innovate and engage in entrepreneurism, to advance into management and leadership positions, and to achieve economic stability; where the safety and security of every person is protected; and where all people are treated equitably and fairly at home and in schools, workplaces, and communities.”
In mid-2022 U.S. International Trade Administration in partnership with AmChams in Europe launched the initiative “Empower Her”. Over past months series of events and activities were implemented across the continent showing the support and the engagement of both chambers and their members to this topic. Now, in January 2023 AmCham Bulgaria kick-s off with this great session at which Melissa Marszalek, Commercial Attache at U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria presented the Commerce Department initiative. The webinar got some real flavor thanks to the input of many of our members that are engaged with the topic, such as Dundee Precious Metals, Prestige 96, etc.
