Following the successful first Manufacturing roundtable held in February and the feedback collected from the members, on March 10th, 2022, the AmCham Board approved the establishment of the Manufacturing Committee within the Chamber. Ivan Mihaylov, Board Member and Director Technical Center – Bulgaria and Romania of Visteon Electronics was appointed Committee Chair.
After the appointment of Ivan Mihaylov as the CEO of AmCham Bulgaria on October 26, 2022, and the strategic review of the the need of this committee at the Strategic Board Meeting in early 2023, this committee was dismissed.
Mission
Among the first tasks of the committee will be to define the main priorities for the current year, focus on the strategic frame, create an efficient internal working environment, and deliver results that will improve the status of the sector.
Human capital development and talent acquisition, Health and Security issues related to the current state of the pandemic and its inevitable development in the fall are some of the main topics. Also, committee members are encouraged to provide proposals for improvement of staff qualification and mobility since the large production sites are “hungry” for talents that should relocate. One of the critical topics is the implementation of labor-related processes in e-government. Along with the digital infrastructure, the road one should be repaired or newly built to meet the expectations of existing and new investors in the country. Finally, the EU Green Deal is among the major challenges as any investment should be climate-neutral till 2050.
