On September 24th AmCham Bulgaria Energy and Mineral Resources Committee jointly with SAP Bulgaria organized the “Intelligent Utilities” webinar. Guests of the webinar enjoyed the opportunity to learn about the next generation of service-based business models. These models are powered by insights from data collected from smart home devices, meters, distributed energy sources, weather maps, energy exchanges, and consumer behavior. SAP guest speakers Miquel Carbo and Fritz Schwarzlaender presented how SAP shapes the ENR sector by providing innovations and best practices for the intelligent Utilities enterprises. These solutions aim to reduce constraints on the opportunities of companies to drive for efficiency and to capture new growth potential.
SAP is devoted to not only maximizing the business goals of intelligent enterprises but also to ensuring a more sustainable development of the companies.
Earlier this month, The United Nations Global Compact in partnership with Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and SAP SE (NYSE: SAP), and with 3M joining as Patron Sponsor launched SDG Ambition guides to support businesses in accelerating action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These guidelines provide business leaders and their technology partners with directional support on measuring and managing sustainability performance through business technology systems and enterprise software solutions. SAP provides such solutions that make profitability sustainable and sustainability profitable, thereby improving people’s lives and helping the world run better.

AmCham Bulgaria Energy and Mineral Resources Committee jointly with SAP Bulgaria welcomes you to a specially designed webinar “Intelligent Utilities”
The traditional commodity business no longer provides the margins or the revenue that is required. Competition and Energy Transition are disrupting the industry. Utilities have to extend their scope. They have to go beyond the traditional energy business in order to offer value added or even completely independent service offerings.
The movement toward sustainable energy in combination with integrated mobility and more livable future cities requires utilities companies to develop intelligent solutions for energy generation and storage, water, and waste management while also striving for energy efficiency in their own operations.
In the first part of this webinar Mr. Carbo will walk us through the essence of building the Intelligent Enterprise for the Utilities industry in a collaborative effort between our customers, partners, and SAP. Later in the webinar Mr. Schwarzlaender will explain how SAP sees the opportunity in innovation spaces that are sparsely populated or even empty today. We know how many innovative ideas are out there in search of a platform to turn imagination into innovation and reality.
Join us to understand how SAP’s intelligent suite and business networks are the perfect foundation for next practices and innovation at the vertical edge. We will have the opportunity to enjoy two customer success stories as well. In the end we would like to discuss the electricity market liberalization – what are SAP lessons learned and new business models for a steady business operations which may be applied in Bulgaria after 1st of October 2020.
