AmCham Bulgaria and the Ministry of Economy Discussed the Opportunities Before Bulgaria in the Three Seas Initiative

On February 5th, 2021 a working meeting between the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Bulgaria and the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria was held. Lachezar Borisov, Minister of Economy, Yana Topalova, Deputy Minister of Economy, Directors of Directorates in the institution, and experts were present at the meeting. AmCham was represented by Ivaylo Slavov, Board Member (BULPROS) and Co-founder of the Growing Europe network, Bojidar Neytchev, Board Member (Managing Partner PwC Bulgaria), and Petar T. Ivanov, CEO.

Minister Borisov presented the actions undertaken at the Ministry with regard to the preparation for the hosting of the Three Seas Initiative. He assured the Chamber representatives that they are working very hard for the successful implementation of the series of events of the initiative in Bulgaria. The main priority of the Ministry is the successful positioning of the Bulgarian business before potential international partners with whom to realize joint projects that are part of 3Si. Minister Borisov proposed the institutional dialogue between both organizations to be intensified.

On behalf of the Chamber, Bulgaria has the advantage with regard to digital transformation and innovation. AmCham aims to have a well-defined role in the framework of Bulgaria’s hosting of the Three Seas Initiative. Its main priority is to build up the business communication with the AmChams in Europe (an umbrella organization of 45 AmChams across Europe and Eurasia), as well as to position our country before foreign investors.
